Smart solar streetlight: where the journey began

The project that turned my interest in electronics into a sustained research journey. Beginning with motion-responsive lighting, it grew to include solar tracking, panel cleaning, coordinated lamps, remote monitoring and an air-filtration prototype. It developed in stages between 2019 and 2025, with each new requirement becoming a reason to learn something new.

Behind the project

I did not learn all the required tools before starting. I learned because the project needed them. Motor drivers, servos, sensors and wireless communication gradually stopped being separate topics and became parts of something I was trying to make work.

My involvement

I developed and integrated the embedded subsystems through a sequence of prototypes, with mentoring from Ferdous Wahid and later support for the 2025 research project. The work included rooftop experiments, lamp coordination and system documentation.

The air-filtration unit is presented as a prototype component. No health, pollutant-removal or city-scale impact claim is made here.
