Poultry robot: learning through each version

A continuing robotics project shaped around the practical work of poultry farming. Our first version was manually operated; later work introduced a manipulator and semi-autonomous behaviour. Each version brought mechanical design, electronics and software closer together. The current extension investigates greater autonomy while building on the earlier prototype.

Planning, coordination & system integration

Behind the project

One of my clearest memories is the first time the vision-assisted system ran after a difficult integration period. The parts were no longer separate tasks: they had become a working robot. That moment still shapes how I approach the next version.

My involvement

I helped plan the system, coordinated mechanical and electronic work across the team, and played a central role in integrating the parts. My undergraduate final thesis developed the semi-autonomous stage under my supervisor’s guidance.

The ongoing autonomous extension is a development direction, not a claim that full autonomy has already been validated.
