Poultry-shed climate-control automation

A low-cost sensing and control system developed for poultry-shed conditions. The project brought environmental monitoring, embedded control and on-site installation together. It was a collaborative effort that became a journal article and taught me to think about the experimental setting as carefully as the controller.

My role
Farm setup, experimental setup & data work

Behind the project

This work took us beyond a laboratory table. Preparing the farm, installing the system and collecting observations were part of the engineering, not steps that came after it.

My involvement

I contributed to the farm and experimental setup, as well as data collection and analysis. Working at the installation site was an important part of understanding what the system needed to do.
