The farm became part of the laboratory

Poultry-shed automation required more than a controller that worked on a desk. The team needed an installation, an experimental setup and observations from the place where the system would be used. My involvement included preparing that setting, collecting data and working on the analysis.

Fieldwork brought the sensors and wiring into contact with practical questions that a bench setup could not answer alone. Conversations with farmers also became part of understanding what the work should support.

The project later contributed to our journal article on low-cost IoT-based climate-control automation.
