Making an idea fit into a small space
The Smart Poultry Feeder began with sketches, but its hardest questions appeared during assembly. Parts had to fit into a compact space and move together in the intended way. Repeated prototypes, measurements and adjustments brought the mechanism closer to something we could take to a farm.
I helped plan the system and coordinate its mechanical and electronic work. We moved between sketches, digital models, printed parts and physical assembly rather than treating the first model as the final answer.
Farm visits added another kind of feedback. Talking with farmers and observing the prototype in its intended setting helped keep the project connected to everyday use, including questions about eventual cost.
