Before the research: motors, lights and batteries
Long before I knew how to describe a research problem, I wanted to know what made a toy move. I collected parts from old devices and experimented with motors, lights and batteries. School science fairs gave those small interests a place to become something I could show.
I cannot point to one exact beginning. Remote-control cars fascinated me, and there were electrical tools at home. Taking things apart and collecting usable pieces became part of my childhood.
That curiosity continued through school and college projects. Only later did I find the language of electronics and research for something I had already been trying to do: understand a device well enough to change it.
