Learning to take responsibility
Serving as Vice Chair of the IEEE HSTU Student Branch from May 2022 to March 2023 changed the kind of responsibility I carried. The branch was already important to my technical learning; leadership asked me to contribute to the space in which other students could learn too.
Organizing and communicating became part of the work rather than something outside engineering. I became more aware of how much a technical community depends on people following through together.
